Therapy sessions especially for military families
If you are a vet or active military and would like to see a therapist "outside the system," please consider coming to see me. I am a military brat, and am very involved with Services for the Armed Forces through the American Red Cross. Best of all, you can probably get funds to see me at no charge to you for 10 sessions! I am an approved provider through the Camaraderie Foundation. I will need to verify your status as active military or a vet. To find out how to access these services, please see www.camaraderiefoundation.org.
I know it can be difficult to adjust to civilian life after deployment. You might find that it is taking a toll on you, your relationship and your children. Some of the symptoms include:
- Feelings of loneliness, anger and frustration.
- Feeling out of place or underappreciated
- Having trouble sleeping
- Having trouble controlling your worries
- Drinking too much
- Putting up walls to protect yourself
- Having difficulty expressing how you are feeling inside
I am familiar with the difficulties military spouses and children go through during deployment and post-deployment. I can offer help with all these issues. I am a trained facilitator with Reconnection Workshops for adults and kids. These are offered by the American Red Cross at Yellow Ribbon events and Returning Warrior Workshops. I am not part of the VA, therefore our work will remain confidential.
Please consider getting a grant through the Camaraderie Foundation so you can have 10 sessions with me at no cost to you. Thank you for your service!
